![]() Got some nice sounds with a Strat running Bass at 6.5 and Treble at 6, but it's pretty hard to make it ever sound bad with a Strat. What are you guys doing with your EQ controls on the amp when you play direct? I always start at 5 and try to stay close to there if I can, even though there's no practical reason to have to do that. This AC10C1 is a 10 watt tube amplifier that joins VOXs flagship lineup of tube amps, the Custom Series. It was more of a square 'TV'-style cabinet with a 10' speaker, though it was also offered in a 2x10' 'Twin'. Some quick background: Vox actually made an AC10 from 1959 to 1967. ![]() Hard to describe, but it was just a different result than I had using it into Fender amps. Starting an Owners Club for a new Vox product that is a 'reissue' in name only - the AC10C1. It got really bright and the gain structure was a little messier. do a Vox issues search here and there are 7-8 threads since 2010 that pop up. Supro Delta King 10 (10watts) and 12 (15 watts) I have the Blues King 12 which is the predecessor to the Delta King line and its fine for home use and. Sound comparison of the Vox AC10 and the Vox AC15. SURELY there would be thread upon thread upon thread here on TGP if this Chinese made PCB amp was unreliable / had QC issues. No experience with the Blackstar HT-5R MKii but overall I only hear good things. Other pedals of the high gain variety (the Wampler Pinnacle, for example), seemed a little less effective. Had the Vox AC10C1 and loved it, perfect for home use. Because it's a true tube/valve amplifier (unlike my SCX2, which is mostly DSP in the front end), it responds awesome to boosters and gain pedals that just push it a little further. The cream one also has a creamback speaker. The results were mixed - Tubescreamers and other overdrives like the Wampler Euphoria generally sounded great. Wouldnt surprise me if Vox used the same preamp as the AC10.even with the opamp stage in the AC10, it sounded like traditional Vox to me and I didnt know there was an opamp in the preamp just based on sound. Connecting to an external speaker disengages the internal one. Inside, there’s a single 10-inch Celestion VX10 speaker, along with a jack to run an external 16-Ohm speaker cabinet. It’s more or less a closed-back cabinet, with just a small vent at the base of the rear panel. ![]() ![]() Played with it some more, probably tried about 6 different guitars and a dozen or so pedals. The C1 cabinet is smaller than both versions of the AC10 combo. Well, I will give it some time with the stock tubes and that is always an option down the road if I feel it is missing something. ![]()
